Nineteen year old Jesse Srpan has been building and modifying bikes since the age of thirteen as well as being exposed to the lifestyle all of his years. From watching his Dad work on bikes to participating in motocross, Jesse has always had a love for the fabrication arena related to motorcycles.
During most of his young life, in the summers, he was employed by his father at their family owned construction company. Jesse saved a decent amount of money by the time he was thirteen and presented the fact that he wanted to purchase a welder at that point. So he did just that and off he went! He then decided to take an old, rusted mini-bike from the seventies, out of the garage and rebuild it. From here with his rebuilt West Coast Choppers mini look a like, he continued on to create a radical uni-body mini-chopper. Jesse now designs and fabricates full size, one of a kind, choppers and bike parts such as the one being unveiled at the Sturgis Bike Week Rally of 2008.
Influenced by top bike builders in the industry such as; Jesse James, Billy Lane, the Martin Brothers and others, Jesse felt that he wanted expose his own ideas, style and talent in the industry also. His work has been recognized by the media and the general public for his ingenuity and radical design concepts.
The Bikes have been featured in several respected media outlets starting with an article that appeared nationally in the April 2007 issue of American Iron Magazine in relation to the uni-body chopper, the August 2007 issue of Ridin’on which is distributed all over the great lakes and mid-west areas, V-Twin magazine, and the Penton Welding publication of May 2007. International interest has been manifested in Europe and Japan as well and has resulted in articles over seas. Jesse has also been featured in the business section of the lake county News Herald in northeast Ohio.
Both Jesse and his Father, Rick have toured together for the last two years or so to enter the various bikes in several shows around the Country. They have participated in many including Rat’s Hole custom bike show in Daytona beach ( taking a first place win), American Iron Magazine bike show, the Donnie Smith Invitational, and the Cleveland Auto-Rama. They will be involved with much more in the future as well.
Jesse, a designer, fabricator, and certified welder offers an array of custom sheet metal work along with any other kind of custom work for motorcycles and beyond. Up to date, just entering his senior year of High School 2008, he has earned welding certification in SMAW - "stick" (3g-4g); GMAW - "mig" (3g-4g); FCAW - "fluxcore" (3g); and GTAW - "tig" - mild steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
In his Junior year 2007-08, he competed in the Skills USA competition for welding through the Auburn Career Center in Concord, Ohio. He took second place (silver) at both Regional and State. He also has had the privilege to have been schooled at Lincoln Electric by some of the nation’s top welding instructors. Welding is his first and foremost true passion.
Summing it all up, Jesse feels blessed to accomplish what he loves to do everyday. Meeting new people in his travels, constantly learning new things, and being creative is what it’s about for him. He hopes to be an inspiration to the youth of this nation so as to step forward and help strengthen the industry here and abroad. In his words, "It’s about being creative, different, doing what you love, with the ambition and drive to see it through.
